Our office now offers a gentle new "drill-less" technology that can frequently be used in place of or in conjunction with the drill to make procedures more comfortable. There is no vibration, no whining sound and less need for anesthetic. This technique uses a stream of kinetic particles to prepare teeth for restorations. Instead of grinding away tooth structure like a drill, this technique gently and precisely sprays away decay. This technique allows for early intervention and conservation of healthy tooth structure, it eliminates the need for acid etching when preparing tooth for bonding and it safely modifies dentin and doubles bond strength. While reducing the need for anesthesia, this allows the dentist to treat multiple sites in the mouth during a single visit, adding to efficiency.
